Rice Crispy Almond and Chocolate Squares

rice crispy 1One of my best memories from childhood are all the sweet treats my mom made , sweet fudge, marshmellows melted on marie biscuits, and rice crispy treats!

Whenever we had bake sales at school we had rice crispy treats filled with refined sugar of course, oh but I loved them, the sweetness with the sticky crunch from the marshmallows. Since starting this health journey I have missed these. So I set out on a mission to make a healthy version. What to replace with marshmallows…mmmm I tried with the amazing almond butter and they turned out so great, I ate most of them , whoops(;

The beautiful leaves of the Kale plant have an earthy taste.  There are several varieties of kale; these include curly kale, ornamental kale, and dinosaur (or Lacinato or Tuscan) kale, all of which differ in taste, texture, and appearance.These are pretty straight forward, you can either dehydrate them or cook them in the oven if your pressed for time. Vitamin C Booster Smoothie

Boost your Immunity with this smoothie, packed with Vitamin C  goodness!DSC01817

I woke up feeling under the weather last week with flu symptoms starting and I wasnt too happy about it!  I had a 3 Hour Yoga workshop to teach and I wasn’t going to let this flu get to comfy in my body. So I whipped this booster smoothie up and it worked out to be super delish and gave me the great boost that I needed to get through the workshop! I was feeling so much better just a couple hours later. Thank goodness.

I recommend cutting out all dairy products if you have those in your diet, as well as all foods containing gluten, and up your intake of smoothies juices and raw fruit and vegetables, your body needs to rest and recover. Stay in bed and sleep or snuggle up on the couch and read a nice relaxing book or a romantic comedy movie to watch hehe (we all secretly love those)!

This smoothie is fulled with Vitamin C and anti- oxidents to build immunity and fight the flu.
