These are so good, and perfect for a hot summers day around the pool. And kids will love them too, a great alternative to your usual store bought ice-creams that are filled with preservatives, artificial colorants and sugar! Whats also great is they are so easy! I promise. (;Â
A little information on how amazing bananas are
Wonderfully sweet with delicious creamy flesh, bananas come prepackaged in their own yellow jackets. Bananas are naturally high in tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin — the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter, which then helps overcome depression.  Bananas help sustain your blood sugar and give you a big energy boost before a workout. Improve your mood and help reduce PMS symptoms, they are also rich in pectin, bananas aid digestion and gently chelate toxins and heavy metals from the body. Bananas are a very good source of vitamin B6 and a good source of manganese, vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber, potassium, biotin, and copper.
Ingredients: *Use Organic where possible
10 wooden sticks , or ice cream sticks
3 Tbsp Raw Cacao
3 Tbsp Coconut Oil
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Nuts(I love pecans)
So first you will need to cut your bananas in half and place on your sticks, put them all in the freezer until frozen hard. I leave them overnight. Chop up your ingredients for the sprinkles and set aside.
For the chocolate sauce, use a double boiler, or boil water and place a glass bowl on top, melt your coconut oil, then add cacao and maple syrup and stir until its sweet and smooth.
You then dunk your bananas in your sauce use a spoon if you need so you can cover the whole banana in sauce, it hardens pretty quick so roll in your chosen sprinkles immediately, if you want a thicker chocolate coat, wait for the chocolate to harden and then re-dip and repeat until you are happy with the thickness.
You can then eat straight away or refreeze!
These are so great to keep in the freezer as an after dinner treat, a day by the pool, well ….anytime really (:
Enjoy every bite! YUM!
